Stuff like this makes me glad my family doesn’t Christmas shop.
I know I promised to post a real blog entry when I got that whole comment issue fixed, and I haven’t done it. Between working full-time at the current job that’s winding down in January, doing extra transcription work from home so the wind-down of the current job doesn’t hurt so much, and taking two creative writing courses, the last thing I want to do when I get some free time is more typing. My apologies for the lack of content.
However, in the spirit of broken promises, here’s a picture from my trip to Ottawa a couple of weeks ago.
The rest of them can be found here. It was a fun time. Even though it was only 3 days, it was my first vacation in a very, very long time. It was good to get out of Toronto for a little while. Perhaps next year I’ll get out of Toronto for good, depending on how things turn out on the job front.
I think I found a fix for my comment problem. Leave a comment on this entry. If it works, I’ll write a real blog entry very soon.
They’re still broken. I can comment on my own stuff when I’m logged in as the Wordpress administrator, but nobody else can comment. I’ve got a tech support inquiry in. Hopefully it’ll get fixed.
Seems comments on the old blog are broken. Apparently it has been that way for “several months.” I got one complaint a long time ago, but when I tested it it worked; it was due to that one person’s browser settings. Not that I blame that person, because with all the bugs and spam on the internet, setting the browser to be more secure is understandable. But this is another problem that looks like the server’s screwy. Don’t know how long this has been going on, but there was one comment successfully posted in September. I’ll have to put that on my list of things to fix. You’ll be informed when I get to it.
Looks like Stephen Harper is taking a page from the McCain/Palin campaign book and getting into comedy television.
Maybe it’s a step towards more exciting elections in this country. Maybe some party will come up with something other than the milquetoast candidates that all ran on a “vote for me, I’m not him” platform this time around. Maybe I’m kidding myself.
