Death and Taxes
Posted in Money Woes, Old Livejournal Archives on February 27th, 2007Finally got my T4 slip, and did my taxes online. Woo-hoo.
I ain’t getting nothing back this year. In fact, I owe $47. For the first time in my life, I’ve made too much money. I don’t even get the GST rebate this year. I guess I am now officially a responsible adult.
If I had an extra $130 in the bank, I could have dropped it into an RRSP and reduced my tax balance to $0. However, even though I made more money this year than ever before, I ain’t got nuthin. I suck.
In March, I start with a planned-out, responsible-adult budget. Hopefully that’ll help keep some cash in the bank between paycheques. I’m also hoping to get my credit cards paid off before my job goes the way of the dodo.
Stupid taxes. The only people that are benefiting from Canada’s New Government’s tax “reduction” plan are SUV-driving breeders. Us single people are still getting shafted. Seeing as there are more single people in Canada now than any other time in history, I think it’s time for a tax revolt. Who’s with me?
