Death and Taxes

Posted in Money Woes, Old Livejournal Archives on February 27th, 2007

Finally got my T4 slip, and did my taxes online. Woo-hoo.

I ain’t getting nothing back this year. In fact, I owe $47. For the first time in my life, I’ve made too much money. I don’t even get the GST rebate this year. I guess I am now officially a responsible adult.

If I had an extra $130 in the bank, I could have dropped it into an RRSP and reduced my tax balance to $0. However, even though I made more money this year than ever before, I ain’t got nuthin. I suck.

In March, I start with a planned-out, responsible-adult budget. Hopefully that’ll help keep some cash in the bank between paycheques. I’m also hoping to get my credit cards paid off before my job goes the way of the dodo.

Stupid taxes. The only people that are benefiting from Canada’s New Government’s tax “reduction” plan are SUV-driving breeders. Us single people are still getting shafted. Seeing as there are more single people in Canada now than any other time in history, I think it’s time for a tax revolt. Who’s with me?

Dear back-seat bloggers.

Eat a dick.

That is all.

The Weekend of Missed Opportunities… or not.

Was supposed to go golfing on Saturday. That fell through. Was supposed to go bowling on Sunday. Even though I had reserved a lane for 4:00, when we got there they said there were no reservations for lanes as there were 2 birthday parties coming in at 5:00 and they had to set up.

Bah.

The good news is, I spent many hours using various forms of digital communication to talk with a g-g-g-GIRL! WTF? We had a lot to talk about and she actually gets my sense of humour. It’s a little disconcerting, really. Jokes that would normally get me puzzled looks at best, a punch in the eye at worst, and this woman’s in stitches. I dunno… I smell a trap.
