“We have to make wine for consumers, not wine that producers dream of.”

Jeebus, even the wine industry is dumbing down. What’s next? Antifreeze?

Here’s a shocker.

I’ve finally become a member of Autoshare. It’s something I’ve been meaning to do for a while. If anyone’s interested let me know and I’ll get the $50 discount coupon to you.

I suppose I should be happy… but when they asked if I was going to be transporting any pets I nearly fell apart. Amazing how one issue in your life can seep into everything, huh?

I’m not going to clog the friends’ pages I’m on with cat stuff. If you care, go here. If not, I won’t bother you anymore.

Don’t give us any more bright ideas.

Texas is arresting people in bars. For what, you ask? Being drunk, of course.

I smell David Miller’s new public health initiative. After all, it’s us drunks on the mainland that disturb Toronto Island dwellers from their days spent tending orchids and shit, right?

The date has been set.

I’ve made the call that every cat owner hates to make. Rinette’s final vet appointment is on Monday.

When I went to pick her up, they confirmed that she did, indeed, have the early stages of kidney degeneration. The vet at the clinic blathered on about how long cats can live with treatment. The bottom line is, this isn’t something that’s going to get better and I can’t watch another cat degenerate in that way.

This weekend will be spent at home with my cat. Don’t even think about calling me to go out.

Who’s up for a bender on Monday afternoon?

Kitty’s comin’ home!

Another update and it seems the worst has passed, at least for the short term. She’ll be able to come home now, but she’ll have to visit with a normal vet in a few days for a follow-up.

At least she’ll be able to come home. Walking around with an empty cat carrier was getting depressing.

Sick kitty update update.

Well, as you can probably guess, I got no sleep last night. Called in today for an update on the cat and she’s still not eating on her own. She also may have a degenerative kidney disease at work inside her. The family cat we had when I was a kid got that later on in her life and it hurt her a lot. I’d really rather not watch another cat go through that.

So Rinette is in the hospital for another few hours. I’ll go pick her up after work (hopefully) and see where things go from there.

Man…

Sick kitty update.

Just got a call from the vet and things are not looking spiffy at the moment. She’s still not eating, her fever is high and whatever treatment I paid $900 for doesn’t seem to be working. They’ll give me a call in the morning and let me know how she’s doing. If she hasn’t improved, then more tests will be needed. “More tests” are upwards of $500. Who knows what they’ll charge for treatment. I can’t throw money at vet bills forever.

Let this be a lesson, kiddies: buy pet insurance.

What a shitty day.
