Scooped this from a link in ’s journal. It’s so absolutely senseless, it’s inspiring.
The mind creates, the corporation profligates. In the material artifice, art objects are deprecations of the musings of the mind — a mind that uses the corporation as a zeitgeist to represent ideas, patterns, and emotions. With the rationalization of the electronic environment, the mind is conceiving a point where it will be free from the corporation to share immersions into the parameters of the delphic artifice. Work of Anti-Art in the Age of Generative Reproduction contains 10 minimal dhtml engines (also refered to as “shopbots”) that enable the user to make contemplative audio/visual compositions.
measuring chains, constructing realities
putting into place forms
a matrix of illusion and disillusion
a strange attracting force
so that a seduced reality will be able to spontaneously feed on it
Just giving a bit of an update to my LJ page, since I don’t update this nearly enough.
I found a place, and will be moving within the next couple of weeks. I found a sweet basement one-bedroom for only $400 a month. Ok, maybe “sweet” is a bit of an overstatement, but with the price and the amount of space, it was a pretty good score. Who’s gonna help me move?
This means the next issue of Second Life may be a little late. However, I am working on it. I’ve been checking out the community for a while, and I’m thinking of searching for a zine distributor for it. Oh yeah, and I got the latest Broken Pencil print edition. There it is, April Zine of the Month, clear as day. Go me!
That’s it for now. In case you haven’t figured it out yet, I usually update my blog more often than this thing. Go there, if you want to read all the crap that goes on in my head as it happens. You’ll be sorry.
Well, I did it. I didn’t do it well, but I did it. I read a few haikus that’ll be in the next book. I also brought two other pieces to read, and decided on which of the two I was going to read before going up. Once I got up there, I completely blanked on which piece I was going to read and why. By the third haiku I could feel my throat closing and my jaw locking up. I bailed after being onstage for probably less than a minute and a half.
I have some serious problems dealing with anxiety.
Ah well. Next time I’ll shoot for two full minutes.
I also brought my MD recorder so I could hear myself, but I guess I didn’t slide the record-switch over far enough before going up. I got nothing.
On a brighter note, Cynthia brought my book. Man, but Cafepress does a good job on books.
Tonight is my spoken-word dealie at IV Lounge, and I still haven’t figured out what I’m going to read. I also have an interview with a band later this afternoon. I’m also really sick from one of the worst hangovers ever.
What a day.
The Spill Magazine updated its site and put the stories I submitted up.
You may notice I’m not linking to said stories. No, no, it’s not a clerical error. The omission was deliberate. Both were butchered, and one even has the WRONG FUCKING BAND NAME on it!
I gotta take my name off this thing…
Still have to submit my Illuminati article… and I suppose there’s still a chance that the guy from Maximum RNR could actually call me back. After that, who knows? Do I really want to continue my association with something like this? I wonder if there are any other music rags in town looking for a burnt-out hack.
I was panicking, looking for a disk with something I’ve been working on on it. I ended up finding it (thank goodness) as well as a disk with a bunch of old articles I published. I put a few of them online. The rest will follow.

Hey… just found out that Fresh Meat put my article about them on their site. More google fodder for me.

It’s currently the second one down. Don’t know where it’ll be by the time you read this.
Yeah, so I was supposed to go to Fresh Meat on Monday. Apparently I was expected. But this whole broke thing is kicking my ass, especially when I have to move in 24 days or so, and I still don’t have first/last. Plus my crappy new job keeps my busy (and sober, dammit) at night.
I didn’t go to Fresh Meat, so there’s not review of the show here. But it probably rocked. Go to or or or or any one of probably a thousand other places to find out how cool it was.
